Venice and her Islands.. in the winter

Venice at the end of November is usually cold but with a Polar blast to reduce temperatures even further drastic measures were needed to combat the cold!

Venice in late November! It snowed and I was bloody freezing. Texts on all the pics to come later as my pc is having a hissy fit... and will probably crash.. as it loves to do at a most critical time.

Catching the Eurostar at Venice Station.. NOTE the snow!!

The countryside on the outside of Venice centre.. yes it was bloody damn cold.

The commercialise Bridge of Sighs.. oh why do they do this?

Catching a 50c gondola from one side of the canal to the other in the dead of night when it was minus three!!

Even in Venice one has to transport stock to the shops... not ajob for the faint hearted.

errrrmmmm... teaching them English is one thing.. to spell is another entirely

nothing different here they still have problems with cats and dogs .. so hanging the rubbish on a wall is the answer

Glass making in Murano.. some things never change

Santa Maria e Donato byzantine church with a mosaic floor from the 12th Century.. it was amazing to see even though I am not one for Churches

again

Early morning rowers on Murano... all in different coloured boats.. a sign of things to come I fear

the 12th Century mosaic floor

A beautiful reflection.. dont be taken in by the sun. It was midday and a mild 1 degree.

the floor again

Me on the water taxi with snow on the Dolomites in the background covered in snow.

Canal view on Murano

And another view on Murano.. it was beautiful.. couldnt resist all the pics.

and again... so picture perfect!

and again.. I was taken with the snow on the Dolomites.. just in case you hadnt figured that one.

An abacus.. not sure what it symbolised but it was pretty

Reclaiming the canal on Burano

Sunset on Burano.. looks like lightening

Just like riding a bike

Rows and rows of coloured houses. If you live on Burano you have to paint your house each year and it must stay the same colour.. no choices here.

and coloured boats to match the houses?

more coloured houses... kinda pretty I thought

Pink and orange.. actually it looked nice

the canal with the coloured houses flanking it

another picture postcard I feel

The church again on Murano
